Our Son, Koosha Baf |

Born on 02/04/2000, at 1:25pm PST, 18 inches tall and 5.06lbs. |
His album is where you can view his pictures.
March 4, 2000: Koosha is now one month old and growing fast. He is at least an inch taller and weighs about six and a half pounds. He doesn't let us sleep for sure. He now recognizes if there are people around and from which direction they are approaching. He knows if he is in motion or just in bed and demands one or the other, especially the motion. We can't keep his arms intact. He always attempts to bring both out and lays them on his face. He moans differently to signify his enjoyment as well as his discomfort. Eating, pooping and sleeping is most of his earthly activities. He appears quite alert when his eyes are open and browses around attentively.
March 26, 2000: Guess what! Koosha is now 22 inches tall and weighs10lbs. Growing double in only seven weeks is quite unusual and we are happy as a matter of course. He has been very cranky these days or these weeks I should say. His sleep is now disordered, i.e. he wakes up in less than an hour for milk and at some other time, in two hours or even half an hour. So we are getting used to his plans and plots; that is he has been quite successful in training us as supreme obedient. Well, I guess I am getting it as that's life but yet hoping to get back to our schedule as he grows up. Dreaming? I hope not.
June 03, 2000: Sleeping problems are almost gone. Koosha goes to bed around 8:00 p.m. and sleeps all the way till around 3:00 a.m. when he wakes up for a quick diaper change and a "snack." He then goes back to sleep till around 7:00 a.m., sometimes even longer.
Our little Koosha is now four months old. He is 25 inches tall and weighs a healthy 15 pounds! He has mastered so many new tricks that he amazes us all. He deliciously sucks his thumb, sometimes his whole fist; he loves to sit in his swing and listen to music till he falls asleep; he latches on to our thumbs and pulls himself up-right and even lifts his foot forward as if he could walk. Best of all, however, he loves to talk! He coos on and on, giggles and gasps! He loves to see himself in the mirror. Koosha now clearly recognizes us and every little smile he gives us is the best gift we can ever wish for.
Today he attended his first birthday party (Dustin's) and as party favors he got a bib, two pacifiers, and a pack of baby wipes!
Only four months old, Koosha has already taken two trips one to San Francisco and the other to Las Vegas! Oh yes, this little one was pure luck although they wouldn't allow him near the slot machines.
July 02, 2000: Koosha is now 16 lbs, 4 oz and is 25 inches tall. He now enjoys playing in his new Super-Saucer, producing sounds with it and biting on different things. He moans asking to be attended, carried in the arms and of course given a tour of the indoor and outdoor continuously. His giggles are so deep, loud and genuine that we cannot pass by. Not to mention when he is bored, he is so aggravating that we find ourselves helplessly trying to calm him down. We have found him ticklish specially with his chest. He also bursts into laughter when you bring your head close in sudden if and only if he feels GOOD.

Koosha is 2 years and 4 months already. He speaks Farsi so well it's unbelievable. He makes sentences. "Maman, shaam chi bekhorim?" He is also very wild and uncontrollable. Dr. Kundell says that's because he is a two-year-old. Along with the many many Farsi words, he has picked up a few English ones too. "water, candy, cookie, hello, thank you, big guys, no touch, no way, see you, truck, O.K, juice" and maybe a few more. What is funny is the way he changes his accent and intonation and pretends to be speaking English! He so desperately wants to speak English. I think it's because he hears children in the park speak it.
His love of water makes you wonder if in his developing stages he got stuck somewhere between a fish and a mammal! A dirty puddle is all it takes to make his day.
